Without prejudices
Those who hear God’s word and put it into practice. (Luke 8: 21)
Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.” (Luke 8:19-21)
The souls Jesus likes are not so much those who are close to Him humanly speaking (family or fellow citizens) but those who listen to Him and without prejudice. They hear Him announcing the Heavenly Kingdom of God, meditate upon it in their hearts, and obey His divine will lovingly. May we ask the Holy Spirit for the gift to see and love, beyond all human bias, the good shepherds whom God tirelessly continues sending our way.
