We can’t do it alone

And Jesus said. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30)

Each of us, in this life, must endure burdens and overcome trials. But the worst thing that can happen to us is to believe that our life depends exclusively on us. In the moment of human success, this belief emboldens those who are proud. Yet when these same persons have worries, adversities and persecutions, they realize they cannot overcome them alone and, thus, fall into despair. May we, every day, turn our hearts to Jesus, the only one who can invigorate our lives.
