The Moderate Will Be Vomited By Christ

"But wisdom is vindicated by her works." (Mt 11:19)

Gospel Pearls 13_12_2019

Jesus said to the crowds:
"To what shall I compare this generation?
It is like children who sit in marketplaces and call to one another,
'We played the flute for you, but you did not dance,
we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.'
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said,
'He is possessed by a demon.'
The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said,
'Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and sinners.'
But wisdom is vindicated by her works." (Mt 11: 16-19)

The proclamation of the Kingdom of Heaven and the preaching of the Word of God implies, in those who listen to it, the need to choose sides. The moderate, that is those who do not choose, will be vomited out of the mouth of Christ because of their life without risks. Once we know the Divine Will we must not fall into human comfort-seeking while continuing to proclaim ourselves Christians. In our decisions we must make the first consideration our own momentary and ephemeral profit. We ask the Lord to grant us the gift of the Fear of God to help us to conduct ourselves according to His Will, removing from ourselves the vice of laziness.
