Let yourself be cradled
For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. (Matthew 19,14)
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. (Matthew 19: 13-15)
Reacting to the disciples who try to turn the children away from Him, Jesus says that one must instead return to being like children to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Obviously children are not to be imitated in terms of the tantrums and mischief they do. According to Jesus, children are a model for adults because they know that they are not independent and they naturally trust their parents. Do you trust Jesus to the point of letting yourself be cradled in His divine arms? Or do you think God is in heaven, but not in your life?
