Christianity is a missionary faith

I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say. (Luke 12: 8-12)

Christianity is intrinsically a missionary faith. It must tend toward announcing the Kingdom of Heaven by way of personal word and witness. If this evangelical witness is eliminated, Christianity loses a fundamental part of its essence. Christians themselves also run the risk of damnation for fear of bearing witness to their faith in Jesus. So tonight, during our examination of conscience, let's review our day and find possible moments when we were ashamed to be called Christian or when we missed the chance to talk about Jesus to those who feel far from Him.
