GOSPEL PEARLS

True Christians and witnesses

"These signs will accompany those who believe." (Mk 16:17)

Gospel Pearls 25_01_2020

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,
they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mk 16:15-18)

Succeeding His Resurrection, Jesus sends His apostles to announce the Kingdom of Heaven to all peoples of every epoch, so they may be saved by entrusting themselves to Him. He promises them signs that will help and accompany them; these were more intense at the time of the first preachings in order to increase their authority, when the Church at large, did not enjoy centuries of glorious history, magnified and not diminished by the defects and sins of those who claim to be Christian. Let us strive to be true Christians and thus His true witnesses.
