True beauty

As Jesus said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!” But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11: 27-28)

At the time, this woman's words were meant to express her appreciation of Jesus' beauty and charm. But Jesus does not hesitate to point out that the only true beauty that matters is the inner beauty gained only by doing God's Will, by doing the Will of the only One who loves us perfectly. It is by lovingly keeping His commandments that we may live in peace and serenity on this earth and also in the hereafter.
