Trials have a duration

Standing by the cross of Jesus (was) his mother (John 19: 25)

Gospel Pearls 15_09_2021 Italiano Español

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home. (John 19: 25-27)

By communicating her consent to the angel Gabriel, our Blessed Mother Mary gave us the Son of God. In the same way, on the cross Jesus gave us his mother, entrusting her to the apostle John. John was the only one who did not abandon his Master at the time of His crucifixion. Trials, even the most terrible ones, have a finite duration. When they finish, truth and justice are restored by God. Jesus left us with the indispensable help of His Most Holy Mother Mary  to whom we may always turn in times of need. Do you feel her presence every day or do you only turn to Our Lady when you are desperate?
