Providing for the material needs of the Church
Many others who provided for them out of their means. (Luke 8: 3)
Soon afterward Jesus went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means. (Luke 8: 1-3)
Fully understanding their feminine nature, the women we come to know in the Gospel serve and support Jesus' evangelising mission and the apostles with their whole selves, even with their own possessions. Do you know that meeting the material needs of the Church is a duty belonging to every Christian? It is not just a matter of doing a bit of voluntary work in the parish, but also of contributing financially with part of one's salary to support the activities of the Church.
