No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar. (Luke 8: 16)
Jesus said to the crowd: “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.” (Luke 8: 16-18)
What we receive from Jesus must not only be intended for our own well-being, but also needs to become useful for others. So we must strive to continually nourish the light of faith, the greatest and most important gift we have received. Our faith is the only one that can truly save us and our neighbour. How much time do you dedicate each week to deepening your Catholic faith? And when was the last time you gave a public Christian witness without thinking twice about it?
