We don't wish you a happy new year...
We don't wish you a happy new year, We don't wish you serenity, peace and harmony for the coming year, because all of this is only good. Instead, we at the Daily Compass want the best for you... We at the Daily Compass wish you and ourselves to be saints.
We don't wish you a happy new year
We don't wish you a good year
We don't wish you serenity, peace and harmony for the coming year
None of this
Because all of this is only good
Instead, we at the Daily Compass want the best for you
We wish you to have the mind of an adult and the heart of a child
To have the strength to say "Yes yes, no no" when others say "maybe", "it depends", "I don't know"
And to have the sensitivity not to ruin lives already injured, not to extinguish the small flame of hope burning in your fellow companions
To have the courage to stand upright on the rock of faith in the face of nothingness that desires to sweep you away
To have the humility to kneel down before God and to ask for the very courage
To look up to Heaven, where Christ, the saints and our loved ones await us with such trepidation it would stir us
And to look down to the Earth, where our companions await us stunned by the nonsense that advances unrelentingly
To not be influencers, but apostles, not followers, but disciples, not thirsty for likes, but for truth
And to find the time to adore that immaculate piece of bread in which time holds its breath and the space of the entire universe condenses
To work, pray, dream and cry with the certainty that the last word on our lives does not belong to us, but only to God.
And to work, pray, dream and cry with the certainty that this word comes from a God who can't stop loving us, whatever the cost, and it cost him dearly
We at the Daily Compass wish you and ourselves to be saints.
Saints every day of the year.
